+ Read more...I would like to think that my work speaks for itself. My work is about freedom and self exploration. I have not yet settled down and decided to further develop one style. Like my mind, my style is all over the place. I have always believed an artist should explore multiple styles, mediums and approaches, before deciding to master one style. I had hoped to have found that one style, my signature style by now. But, I still find myself exploring. I do not want to rush it. So for the moment I will enjoy trying different things.
While my approach to my work seems to differ from piece to piece, my philosophy behind my work is usually consistent. I tend to paint things to provoke emotion and conversation. I always find myself trying to bring attention to an issue or cause. I will begin a piece with the intent of just painting, then I will find some way to put some thought or meaning into the piece.
I struggled with this for years, as I saw it as an inability to tab into my subconscious. As I have gotten older and hopefully wiser I am learning to accept me as I am. I am an artist that likes to plan. I am an artist that tries to provoke thought. I am an artist that likes to work in different styles and mediums. I am an artist that has something to say.
Whether than fight with myself, I am now embracing the person/artist that I am. I will continue to attempt to paint from my subconscious to challenge myself. And I will continue to produce that type of artwork that represents me.

Early 2000's, I carried my camcorder everywhere. This is footage from one weekend in Atlanta. Random shots, no scripts.
The ART of storytelling- The Transaction. Please keep in mind, I painted this several years ago :) and I haven't showed this to many, but why not show it? I really love the concept of "The ART of storytelling", and I see ART in everything, and there's a whole sub-culture that ART ignores. But I understand why, certain subjects just aren't that marketable, and for the most part, the ART world is dictated by the galleries. But I'm artist, and within my ART, I can do whatever I want.
